1. About these terms
These terms are the agreement between you and BUOKO ("we", "us") for using BUOKO email on the web, iPhone, Android and through other email apps. By creating a BUOKO account, you agree to them. Our privacy policy explains how we handle your data.
2. Who can use BUOKO
- You must be at least 16 years old.
- One free account per person.
- You're responsible for what happens on your account. Tell us right away at [email protected] if you think someone else has access.
- We don't ask for your real name or phone number. That means your password, recovery codes and optional backup email are the only way to prove the account is yours. Please keep them safe. If you lose all of them, we may not be able to give you access again.
3. The service
Anyone who meets these terms can sign up at buoko.com/mail/sign-up or in the BUOKO apps. To keep BUOKO free of spam and bots, we may check that you're a human and limit how many new addresses can be created from one internet connection.
We keep improving BUOKO, so features and limits may change. We'll tell you in advance about changes that affect you in an important way.
4. The free plan
The free plan has no ads and no price. It currently includes 1 GB of storage, sending to up to 25 people a day (10 an hour), 3 aliases, 4 temporary emails (each lasts up to 7 days) and attachments up to 10 MB.
Sleeping free accounts. For free addresses created on or after 26 October 2026: if you don't sign in for 14 days, your address goes to sleep. While it's asleep, new mail sent to it is refused, and everything already in your mailbox stays. Signing in again wakes it up right away. If an address stays asleep for a year, the account and its mail are deleted and the address is retired, so it's never given to anyone else. Paid plans never sleep. Free addresses created before 26 October 2026 keep the terms they signed up with: they don't sleep or expire.
We may change plans and limits as we learn what keeps BUOKO fast and spam-free. We'll tell you in advance about changes that affect you in an important way.
5. Email addresses
- Addresses are never recycled. When an account is closed, its address is retired forever and never given to anyone else.
- You can use your BUOKO address for as long as your account is open, but the buoko.com domain stays ours.
- We may refuse or remove addresses that impersonate others, infringe someone's rights or could mislead people (for example names like "support@" or "admin@").
6. Paid plans
| Plan | Monthly | Yearly |
|---|---|---|
| Personal | $2.99 | $29.99 |
| Plus | $4.99 | $49.99 |
| Business (one mailbox on your own domain) | $6.99 | $69.99 |
- Where to buy. Paid plans are bought only in the BUOKO Android app, through Google Play Billing. They aren't sold through the Apple App Store.
- Google handles the payment. Google is the seller and payment processor for these purchases, so Google Play's terms also apply. We never see your card number.
- Prices. Google Play shows the price in your local currency, including local taxes, before you pay.
- Works everywhere. Once you've bought a plan, it applies to your BUOKO account on every platform, including the web and iPhone.
- Cancelling and refunds. You cancel your subscription in Google Play. Refunds are handled by Google Play under Google's refund policies.
Nothing here affects your legal rights as a consumer, including any right to cancel.
7. No ads
BUOKO has no ads, on any plan.
8. Optional features
- AI writing (Plus and Business) suggests text using Anthropic's Claude. It can make mistakes, so please check what it writes before you send it. You're responsible for the emails you send.
- Moving your mail to BUOKO. Only import mail from accounts you're allowed to access.
- Other services. Some features connect to services run by others, such as Google Play, YouTube, Twitch and Alt Chat. When you use them, their own terms also apply.
Our privacy policy explains what data these features use.
9. Acceptable use
Email only works when people trust it. You agree not to use BUOKO to:
- send spam, including bulk or commercial email to people who haven't asked for it,
- send phishing, scams, malware or anything designed to trick people,
- impersonate someone else, or hide who you are to mislead people,
- harass, threaten or abuse anyone,
- send or store illegal content. Child sexual abuse material is reported to the authorities,
- get around sending limits, create accounts in bulk, or attack, probe or overload our systems or anyone else's.
10. Sending limits and abuse
Every account has sending limits that protect everyone's delivery. They may grow with account age and good behaviour.
If something looks wrong, we usually pause sending, not your whole account, so you can still read your mail. We'll tell you why when we can. You can appeal by writing to [email protected], and a human will review it. For serious or repeated abuse, or where the law requires it, we may suspend or close the account.
11. Your content
Your emails and files are yours. You give us only the permission we need to store, process, send and receive them in order to run BUOKO for you. We don't use your content for advertising.
12. Ending your account
- By you. You can delete your account at any time. See how to delete your account.
- By us. We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms or the law. Where we reasonably can, we'll warn you first and give you time to download your mail.
- If BUOKO closes the service, we'll give you as much notice as we reasonably can, and at least 30 days where possible, so you can move your mail.
- After an account is closed, its data is deleted as described in the privacy policy, and the address is retired forever.
13. BUOKO is provided "as is"
We work hard to keep BUOKO running, secure and backed up, but things can sometimes break. BUOKO is provided "as is" and "as available", without promises that it will always be available, error-free or fit for a particular purpose, except where the law doesn't allow us to exclude them. Please keep your own copies of anything important.
14. Liability
We're responsible for losses we cause intentionally or through gross negligence, and for anything else that can't be limited by law. Otherwise, we're not responsible for indirect losses, such as lost profits or lost business, or for losses we couldn't reasonably foresee.
Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law.
15. Changes to these terms
We'll update these terms as BUOKO grows, for example when we add features or plans. We'll post the new version here with a new date. If a change matters, we'll tell you by email or in the app at least 30 days before it takes effect. If you don't agree, you can delete your account before then.
16. Law and disputes
If you're a consumer, the laws of the country where you live apply where consumer law requires it, and you can bring a claim in the courts there. Otherwise, the law that applies is the one decided by the rules that normally govern international agreements. Either way, please talk to us first at [email protected]; most problems are quicker to fix by email.
17. Contact
Email [email protected] ([email protected] also reaches us). A real person reads every message.
